With ultra-low latency performance, comprehensive studio functionality and legendary Apogee quality, Ensemble is the ideal choice to meet the diverse demands of the professional home or commercial studio.Ensemble features premium Apogee ADDA conversion, 8 Advanced Stepped Gain mic preamps, monitor controller functionality including talkback, front panel Guitar IO, two headphone outputs and digital connectivity for a total of 30 x 34 IO.Latency has been reduced to an astounding 1.1ms round-trip, allowing you to monitor through your DAW, plug-ins included, simplifying your workflow and leveraging the power of your Mac.Even when your sessions DSP demands require a higher buffer setting, Ensembles ultra-low latency means no longer having to choose between power and speed.
Apogee/Mic 96K 2549 Mogami Xlr Drivers Efficiency AndThe DMA engine, running on Ensembles hardware logic chip, reads digital audio data directly from your Macs memory in a 32-bit format, increasing the drivers efficiency and providing the highest resolution signal possible to the DAC stage. This implementation allows the driver to crunch an enormous amount of data at an amazing speed, while making a very light demand on your Mac CPU. You benefit with lower latency, more plug-in power, and a transparent and encompassing. Ensemble Thunderbolt and Element Series interfaces allowing them to work simultaneously. Apogee Symphony IO MKII Dante Pro Tools HD Chassis with 16 Analog In 16 Analog Out 8 Mic Pre Amp Module. The only interfaces that are NOT compatible with the MKII chassis are the 16in16digital out and the 16out16 digital in cards. You should still receive many many more years of operation and support with your Mark 1 unit Hope this helps Thank you, Chris Shapiro. Apogee/Mic 96K 2549 Mogami Xlr Update The FirmwareYes, it runs on Sierra, as Ive been doing all year, but we cant be expected to hunt down an old Mac running Yosemite just to update the firmware. Currently on the Apogee site: NOTE: To update Symphony IO firmware you will need to connect the unit to a Mac running OS 10.10 or lower. I wouldnt be so worried about that mk1mk2 version of the converters card since both fit in the new mk2 chassis. I had my girlfriend listen to a session she said I can hear so many flaws now. Artist I recorded yesterday what the hell did you do Ive never sound this good in my life is so clear, this is 4k music. Just thought id report back in regarding my new acquisition of the Symphony IO MKII (8x8 IO) Working perfectly I am running the symphony as my main monitoring converter via adat. I was used to operating with multiple Profire 2626s for 10 years, so it was a noticeable contrast when i ran reference mixes to hear the difference in conversion monitoring. Generally i noticed better distinction between each instrument, areas of conflict were more identifiable. I also cut out a lot of cabling from the signal path - also removed a passive monitor controller, so now my audio path is much cleaner, simpler, and higher accuracy overall. I feel like im hearing more depth - im not sure if this is due to the extra dynamic range from conversion, or if this is because of the improved signal path in general. The remote works fantastically during the tests (talkback feature is awesome, mono monitoring, dim etc) although I will not be integrating this remote into the setup until Q4 2017. This will be the monitoring path for the future in a more streamlined studio environment. The Apogee unit remembers its last setup and routing settings so when it gets disconnected from the computer it will retain all of the settings last selected. The unit is running consistently around 62 degrees, and is a very silent system. I can definitely conclude overall, you get what you pay for with the symphony IO MKII, for anyone who is sitting on the fence. Apogee/Mic 96K 2549 Mogami Xlr Upgrade To TheToday I received offer through their European distributor to upgrade to the MKII (from MKI) for 1.499 euro (empty chassis). As I use the card with the 16 extra inoutputs as well as the 88 card in the MKI Im not quite sure if I can use those in the MKII. The thing is, I am running two MKI Symphony chassis (in a silent rack with ProTools HDX) and I cannot see any advantage for this 3000,- upgrade.
